This season dazzling outdoor light displays are all the rage! And why not. You can safely enjoy the magic of the season from the comfort of your car at a price that won't make your jaw drop. There are so many to see in and near Westchester County! Shimmering lights, festive music, Santa Claus, lighted tunnels, glistening trees, diverse light displays and bright animations are in store for you at these events. 

Whether you try one or all of the shows on our list, these night illuminations are sure to brighten your spirits.

Westchester's Winter Wonderland drive-thru light show is a holiday treat for people of all ages and religions. Located at the Kensico Dam in Valhalla, this event is the perfect way to experience some safe yet festive holiday fun with your family. From the comfort of your car you will travel on a 1.2 mile journey through a variety of Christmas and holiday light scenes that blink, twinkle and glow with cheer. You will see Santa, Reindeer, Christmas trees, elves and thousands of glistening holiday lights. 

Tickets are on sale now at wwinterwonderland.com. Open select nights, Friday, November 27th through Sunday, January 3rd! Tickets are available for specific dates and time slots by reservation only. Learn more by reading our review. $25 per car or $40 per van or limo.

Magic of Lights is festival of twinkling, magical holiday lights spread over a 1-2 Mile course. A 200-foot light tunnel and over 40 Scenes of holiday lights displays make this a unique and thrilling family-friendly drive-through experience for all ages.

You can reserve tickets in advance but you do not have to. If you decide to reserve tickets in advance you get a discount and you can use them on any day you choose! Cars $25 in advance ($30 Mon-Thur at gate, $35 Fri-Sun), Limo $50 in advance ($55 Mon-Thur at gate, $60 Fri-Sun), Bus $100 in advance ($100 Mon-Thur at gate, $125 Fri-Sun).

See 2.5 miles of holiday lights in this drive-through experience, with LED tech and digital animations. There is a Blizzard Tunnel, and displays of the 12 Days of Christmas and Night Before Christmas. There is also the Toyota Mega Tree Spectacular, which has 240 feet of LED Christmas trees “dancing” with holiday programming. 

You can reserve tickets in advance but you do not have to. If you decide to reserve tickets in advance you get a discount and you can use them on any day you choose!

A 200-foot light tunnel and over 40 scenes of holiday lights displays will be featured at this unique and thrilling family-friendly drive-through. The 1-2 Mile course also features a variety of festive scenes and sparkling LED displays depicting your favorite characters of the season, including animated snowmen, elves, poinsettias, candy canes, and more!

This light display holds the title in the Guinness Book of World Records for most holiday lights— 670,000! Created by the Gay family in Dutchess County, this drive-thru experience is located in their driveway. Watch the lights dance as they are synchronized to over 250 songs. The show runs every night of the week through December 27 from 4:45-9:30 pm. (10:30 pm on Fridays).

Peace, Love & Lights is a a drive-thru holiday light experience in the beautiful Sullivan Catskills. The light show features a spectacular 120-foot Twinkle Tunnel and themed areas, including: Groovy Way, an Enchanted Forest, Snowflake Alley and Santa’s Workshop. Open seven days a week from November 23 - January 3.

​Reserve tickets in advance. Tickets are reserved by day but not a time (the light show runs 5PM- 10PM, you can enter anytime during those hours). If you would like to avoid the wait on weekends, consider buying a Dasher Pass for $20.

Live actors and computer animatronics will transport you and your family into a magical land of make believe! This annual no frills light show is a holiday staple for locals. Four neighboring houses together display over 10,000 lights on 144 channels synchronized to music. It's a sight to see. Tune your FM car radio to 107.7 to hear the music in your car. FREE!

Come hungry to this one! Drive through the vast light display, sing along to famous holiday songs in the arena,  enjoy the multi-media show and stop for delicious treats. If you buy your ticket in advance you can save $5 making the price $25 per car.

The Cross County is bringing holiday cheer with it's 44 foot tall Christmas tree. Unlike other trees, you can walk through it! Adding to the experience, there will be strolling entertainers from stilt walkers to musical performances at the tree throughout the season. FREE!

The Bronx Zoo’s Holiday Lights, a family-favorite holiday light experience, is back this year to bring light and joy to the holiday season. The event runs through January 10th. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online. 

Tickets are FREE for Members but required in order to manage the number of guests in the park, therefore, tickets must be reserved in advance. Non-member tickets are $34.95 for adults, $22.95 for children ages 3-12 and $31.95 for seniors.

LuminoCity Festival is a dynamic holiday light festival and immersive art experience on Randall's Island in New York City. It features all new light art installations spanning several acres. Each of the three parks illuminates the night with beautiful sculptures inspired by nature, history, and magic! The timed-entry experience invites you to go on a 30-45 minute walking, narrative journey through five different sets consisting of chapters of an original story starring Lumi. Travel across different worlds of the Mysterious Forest, Dangerous Dunes, Forgotten Ruins, Hidden Land of Hria, and Mystical Moon Land.  

Purchase tickets in advance. General admission tickets are $29, children ages 3-12 $17, students or seniors $25.

Brilliant colors, thousands of dazzling lights, and picture-perfect installations fill the Reflecting Pool and enliven surrounding gardens and collections. Also during your visit, enjoy artistic ice sculptures, music, roving dancers and more outdoor fun.

Tickets must be reserved in advance. Adults are $30, children (ages 2–12) $18, children under 2 are free. For Members/Patrons, adults are $20, children (ages  2–12) $10, children under 2 are free.

Back for another year, the annual Grand Holiday Illumination will take place from December 12 until January 3. The Illumination will be free, outdoor, socially distanced and masked. 

Reservations are required using their free timed entry reservation system on their website. Tickets will be released on a weekly basis on Wednesdays at 8AM. Your reservation will allow you to visit the illuminated Walled Garden for 20 minutes. Keeping visits brief allows for more visitors during the holiday season. Visitors will not be allowed in the gardens without a reservation. Get your tickets here. FREE!
