Carnivals & Fairs

The New York Renaissance Fair- FINAL WEEKEND!
Summary: Enter the world of 16th Century England and enjoy themed games, rides, arts, crafts, food, music and dance. Dress in costume and be part of the experience! This weekend's theme is Oktoberfest.

Summary: Multi-day family carnival with rides, games and food.

Fall & Halloween Events
Summary: Family friendly farm festival includes hands-on farming and food activities, live music, a seasonal farm and food market with delicious fare, hayrides, a turkey parade and more. This event is sold out and is open to ticket holders only.

Neuberger Museum of Art Fall Family Festival
Summary: A creative afternoon of exploration and experimentation for visitors of all ages. A team of artists will guide visitors as they experiment with a wide range of media and techniques.

Warwick Applefest
Summary: Festival features over 200 juried crafters and dozens of vendors offering a wonderful variety of food, free musical entertainment, a carnival for the children, pony rides, Farmers' Market, and more.

Weinberg Nature Center Fall Festival
Summary: Family festival includes face paint, crafts, music, animal shows, hay dive, Native American lifestyles demonstration, stream ecology activity, refreshments and more. Cost is $8.

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze (ongoing event)
Summary: Experience a Halloween spectacular of thousands of jack o' lanterns by walking through an 18th century riverside landscape. Recommended for all ages. This event sells out so you need to purchase tickets or a membership through Historic Hudson Valley in advance.

Scarecrow Making
Summary: 7th annual scarecrow making program where you can create a life-sized scarecrow that will be exhibited and entered in the upcoming scarecrow contest at Harvest Festival, October 15 & 16. You can then take your scarecrow home to decorate the lawn for Halloween. Pre-registration is recommended due to popularity.

The Legend Behind the 'Legend' at Washington Irving's Sunnyside (ongoing event)
Summary: To celebrate it's connection to Washington Irving's classic tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, this event will showcase numerous objects related to Irving’s famous story. Visitors can enjoy a shadow puppet performance of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and experience one of Irving's spooky tales on a walk through the woods. Purchase tickets in advance.

Boo at the Zoo (ongoing event)
Summary: One of the Bronx Zoo's most popular traditions, Boo at the Zoo includes a series of Halloween themed activities and attractions including: Jack O'Lantern Creatures, hay maze, the costume parade, pumpkin carving, treat stations, music shows, creepy crafts and more. Many children attend in costume.
