Indoor Fun
With the possibility of rain coming this weekend, we wanted to share some indoor options for fun.
Meet other community moms and their little ones at Westchester NY Moms' exclusive Music & Play event on Saturday at 9:30am. Join us at Kids U Pleasantville for open play in the PlayQuad and bouncy castle followed by musical entertainment with community favorite Chloe's Kids. Refreshments will be served. This event is geared towards children three and under but we will welcome older siblings who can stay in the PlayQuad area while Chloe is running the entertainment in the gym. Advance Registration is required in advance, cost is $10 per child. Click to Register.
Head to Scattered Books in Chappaqua for their Lucky Fairy Making Workshop on Saturday afternoon. Children will make a short fairy tale of their own then customize a lucky fairy to take home. RSVP required, email [email protected].
If you have not been to the Hudson River Museum we suggest you check it out. Not only do they have a planetarium and exhibits, they also have an early explorers space and creative activities for children on Saturdays and Sundays.
One of our go-to spots is the Saturday free craft at Lakeshore Learning in Scarsdale from 11:00am-3:00pm. It's great for toddlers and up and little planning is required. This week's craft is friendship bracelets.

Fairs & Festivals
The New York Renaissance Faire starts this weekend and runs through October 2nd. Enter the world of 16th Century England and enjoy themed games, rides, arts, crafts, food, music and dance. Dress in costume and be part of the experience! The Faire is located in Tuxedo Park, NY. For Opening Day, Saturday, August 6th, there will be a "First Lance Ceremony" at 2:30pm in which Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth will make the first lance break on the new joust field. Post a pic and use hashtag #FirstLanceNYRF on their Facebook page for a chance to win prizes.

Experience authentic Native American culture at The Bear Mountain Pow Wow on Saturday and Sunday. The event includes a tipi rising, authentic food, artists, educators, singers, dancers, performances, and jewelry. Interact with representatives from tribes of the Lakota, Navajo, Mohawk, Seneca, Cherokee, Aztec, Mayan, Samoan, Hawaiian and many more.
Ossining Sankofa Homecoming runs all weekend, The event is a celebration of African-American history and heritage in the Hudson River village. Many prior residents return for the weekend-long event to reconnect with neighbors.
