Maybe it's all of this cold weather, or the fact that we're stuck inside A LOT, but I cannot stop thinking about summer! I cannot wait for my kids to get outside with old and new friends for long days of swimming, arts and crafts, ice cream, soccer games and all the fun stuff that summer brings.
Camp gives children a unique opportunity to try new things, make new friends, get fresh air, learn new skills, foster interests and be active! So they can grow, become more independent, sharpen their social skills, gain confidence and learn the value of teamwork.
It's not too early to start your day camp search. In fact, registration is open at most camps. To kick off your camp search we are providing a list of 34 amazing day camps that serve Westchester County families. Many of these were recommended by moms in our community.

Each camper participates in instructional swim (taught by Red Cross Lifeguard Certified pool staff members and trained group counselors), recreational swim, at least two land sports, and two specialties like fine art, such as ceramics, arts and crafts, jewelry making, or an outdoor activity, such as fishing, wilderness, or a nature activity. Breezemont has 6 total swimming pools, with 4 brand new heated pools. Throughout the summer, every other Thursday night is a Campfire Nights. These concentrations will allow campers to explore the depths and dimensions of each discipline, with 14 different classes a week. To further personalize their schedules, students will choose nine electives outside of their concentration, giving them the opportunities to explore new interests.
They also offer a program for first graders and week-long specialty camps in Robotics, Circus Arts, and Basketball.
Join them for up to eight weeks of summer fun and activity or simply just come for one week. Their summer program is flexible and designed to accommodate family vacation time and other summer commitments. Located in Westchester County in Katonah, New York, Harvey Summer Camp is located 50 minutes north of New York City and 20 minutes from the Eastern border of Connecticut.

You can also contact your town recreation department to see if they will be offering day camp this summer. Town camps are typically lower in price and are a great way for kids to make new friends, or reconnect with old friends, right in your community. Westchester County Parks also provides a variety of summer programs for children.
