Nature camps have implemented health and safety measures like temperature checks, distancing, capacity limits and mask wearing to ensure your child has a healthy and fun summer. Westchester County Parks is offering a variety of outdoor summer camps and registration is now open! Full details are available on their website.
Boys and girls entering grades Pre-K through nine can explore and discover the natural environment of Westchester County with fun, hands-on experiences at our nature centers. Each camp will focus on different aspects of nature and teach youngsters about animals, insects, plants and more with a new theme each week.
Camps will operate outdoors, safely under New York State COVID-19 guidelines. A maximum of 10 campers permitted in each group; six per Pre-K group. Face masks are mandatory and social distancing protocols will be followed at all times.
One and two-week sessions are offered beginning Monday, July 5 through Friday, Aug. 26, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with Pre-K operating as a half-day from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the following locations.

The Greenburgh Nature Center is offering two camps this summer July 6th-August 27th. First, the Naturalist School is for children entering K-1st. Kids can become a mini Naturalist at their Naturalist School! Children will be able to enrich their traditional school year curriculum with exciting and educational programming in a fun and safe environment. Their own expert Naturalist Educators will lead and inspire kids through STEAM-influenced nature activities to expand their point of view.
Their second camp is Summer Nature PODs for children entering 1st-4th. Budding nature lovers can enjoy small group experiences that have all the fun of their typical camp experience along with educational aspects of STEAM learning. PODs are designed to meet the guidelines required during this pandemic and allow your children to safely explore, discover, and connect with our natural world. Each week, kids will participate in engaging, STEAM influenced activities supervised by their Naturalists.

If you are looking for a nature-oriented, non-competitive summer day camp for children ages 5-15 this may bet your place! Located on 200 beautiful acres in Rockland County, they offer offer a 5-week-long camp experience from July 5 – August 6, 2021 and a single week option from August 9th to the 13th. Outdoor play, adventure, and hands-on experience in nature is the heart of their camp. Activities include swimming, hiking, canoeing, Earth art, farming, cooking and more! Teatown Lake Reservation offers their Natural Science Summer Day Camp every summer for kids ages 4-14. This camp brings kids outside to learn about and explore the natural world on their 1,000-acre preserve. In four two-week sessions, age-specific activities encourage the spirit of discovery! The camp's mission is to provide a safe, non-competitive summer haven where kids can be kids. Children spend their days learning by exploring, discovering new things about themselves, each other and the earth, and developing friendships and respect for all living things. Naturalists will encourage campers to follow their interests in wildlife, the outdoors, and the environment. This camp is perfect for curious free-thinkers and nature lovers. Kids ages 10-16 can sign up for Survive the Wild Camp— for those who love the outdoors, emergency preparedness and wilderness survival skills are essential. Naturalists will teach campers how to navigate and understand our natural environment.
