Located at the Kensico Dam in Valhalla, this event is the perfect way to experience some safe yet festive holiday fun with your family. From the comfort of your car you will travel on a journey through a variety of Christmas and holiday light scenes that blink, twinkle and glow with cheer. You will see Santa, Reindeer, Christmas trees, elves and thousands of glistening holiday lights.
Tickets are required in advance. There are timed entrances but we did end up in a line of cars resulting in a half hour wait (Tip: we entered from the Bronx River Parkway from the south, you may have more luck entering from North Broadway). The good news is that you can enjoy some of the lights from the road while you are waiting— my kids loved seeing the approaching lights from afar and it really helped build excitement for the show. Tuning into the festive holiday music that accompanies the show on your car radio is the perfect touch.
Once we entered, the entire drive took about 20-25 minutes. The lights and characters really were a treat for all of us. Take a look at our slide show to see some highlights.
This pandemic has been brutal and Westchester's Winter Wonderland was the perfect pick-me-up for all of us. The lights really did help us feel the magic of the season and all the joy that it brings.
Tickets are available now on Westchester's Winter Wonderland website. The show runs every evening from November 27 - January 3 (except: Nov 30, Dec 7, Dec 14, Dec 24 & Dec 25).
