There’s something truly magical about summer camp and at ESF Summer Camps at Sacred Heart Greenwich, that magic comes to life in unforgettable ways. Nestled on a beautiful 110-acre campus in the heart of Greenwich, CT, our camp is more than just a place to spend summer, it’s a place where friendships blossom, confidence soars, and life skills are built through joy-filled experiences. Whether your child is trying something new for the first time, taking on a leadership role, or simply discovering the thrill of being part of a vibrant camp community, there are countless reasons to fall in love with ESF. Here are just 10 of our favorites!

1. Making new friends
Summer camp is where lifelong friendships are made! Whether it’s cheering together for the Spirit Stick, encouraging each other on the Rockwall, or playing side by side in a World League game, the shared experiences at camp create lasting bonds. The friends you make at camp are truly the BEST FRIENDS!

2. Building character muscles
We provide numerous opportunities for children to strengthen their character. Through fun and engaging activities, we focus on fostering gratitude, optimism, and happiness, while promoting kindness, respect, and positive behavior. Teachable moments at camp help develop effort, trust, and resilience, all while encouraging campers to recognize their personal growth and potential.

3. Building a stronger sense of confidence and independence
Camp is the place to step out of your comfort zone and build self-assurance. Camp offers opportunities to try new things, face challenges, and grow in confidence. We create MAXJOY—a guiding philosophy that inspires meaningful growth, positivity, and the discovery of one's full potential.

4. Developing new skills
Whether it’s swimming, sports, archery, art, or coding, camp is all about learning new skills and accomplishing things you never thought possible. We spend all year crafting activities that campers look forward to, using cutting-edge methods and age-appropriate curriculum. With over 60 activities, special events, and time-honored traditions, ESF offers a comprehensive and innovative experience in everything from sports to science and leadership development.

5. The ability to truly be yourself at camp
Camp is about self-discovery! It’s a safe environment to grow, explore, and try new things, all while knowing that you’ll have a community cheering you on. ESF encourages each camper to follow their unique path, discover their passions, and find joy in their journey.

6. Becoming a Captain, Scout, or Ambassador
No matter which camp you’re in, being chosen as a leader is a special and important experience. Whether it’s being selected as a Captain, Scout, or Ambassador, it’s a moment of recognition for hard work and leadership, helping campers feel proud of their contributions.

7. Finding role models in our experienced adult Team members
ESF’s adult staff are living examples of selflessness and unconditional love. Our counselors, coaches, and directors lead by example, inspiring campers through their positive behavior and dedication. On the last day of camp, it’s common for campers to ask their favorite staff member for a keepsake, like a name tag or ESF shirt, as a reminder of the summer.

8. Camp Traditions
The Spirit Stick, World League, The Oracle, Ultimate Games--these time-honored traditions are what make ESF camps truly special. These cherished rituals build connections and foster a sense of community that lasts long after the summer ends.

9. Camp increases opportunities for interpersonal communication
One of the best things about camp is the opportunity to have meaningful conversations without the distractions of cell phones or TV. Camp encourages campers to connect with one another on a deeper level, building real friendships and communication skills that last a lifetime.
