It is that time of the year, finally! Apples, pumpkins and leaves, OH MY! Fall is here and the greatest way to celebrate is to enjoy the outdoors and get your family out for some fresh air and fresh picked apples. These hot spots are recommendations from our community of Westchester Moms to get the best apples, pumpkins and don’t forget baked goods and apple cider! These locations are all located in and around the heart of Westchester County, NY.
STUART’S FRUIT FARM, 62 Granite Springs Road, Granite Springs NY, 10527
Phone: 914-245-2784
Website: http://www.stuartsfarm.com
Hours: 9/6-11/30 10AM- 5PM
Admission: Free Entry
Stuart’s has a very “home-like” feel from its apple picking to its pumpkin picking. Stuart’s has a bakery with apple cider donuts that can satisfy you just by the smell! I know some other Westchester Moms had mentioned waiting in line at the bakery for up to 30 minutes but it is SO worth it! Apple picking begins September 6th and runs daily from 10AM- 5PM through November. Pumpkins will be available for picking in October. Don’t forget to take a hayride (weekends 11AM- 5PM) around the orchard and end your family trip with a fun picnic to take in the wonders of fall. Be sure to bring cash, as Stuart’s does not accept credit cards!

HARVEST MOON FARM & ORCHARD, 130 Hardscrabble Rd, North Salem, NY 10560
Phone: 914-485-1210
Website: http://www.harvestmoonfarmandorchard.com/
Hours: 8AM-6PM April- December 24
Admission Fee: $5
Harvest Moon is family owned and operated. During the Fall they offer pick-your-own apples and a Fall Festival every weekend. Apple picking will begin August 31, 2019 with a hill of McIntosh apples. The Fall Festivals are held every weekend in September and October as well as 9/30, 10/1, 10/9, 10/14! In addition Harvest Moon has a pumpkin patch, hayrides around the farm, a bounce house, live music, games, face painting, pony rides and more! As one Westchester Mom put it, "Harvest Moon has great entertainment and great food but be sure to wear your walking shoes!"

WILKENS FRUIT AND FIR FARM, 1335 White Hill Rd, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598
Phone: 914-245-5111
Website: http://wilkensfarm.com
Hours: Pick-Your-Own: 10AM-4:30PM
Admission: Free Entry
As one Westchester Mom puts it “Wilkens is a no frills farm” with some very tasty apples that make the trip totally worth it! Even though it doesn’t pride itself on the extras like playgrounds or bouncy castles Wilkens can give you that afternoon “country” feel without actually going to the country. You will enjoy a hayride to the orchards, which will have apples, peaches, pumpkins or Christmas trees depending on when you visit. They also have a Corn Maze open Saturday, Sundays & School Holidays 10AM-5PM beginning in mid-September.

BARTON ORCHARDS, 63 Apple Tree Ln, Poughquag, NY 12570
Phone: 845-227-2306
Website: http://bartonorchards.com
Hours: End of July - November Monday - Sunday: 9:00AM - 6:00PM
Admission Fee: Weekends only, there is a $5 admission fee for all guests
A Westchester Mom favorite, Barton Orchards features a petting zoo, playgrounds, a play area, a corn maze, fruits and veggies to pick, shaded picnic areas and so much more on the grounds!  On weekends, along with pick your own, there is live entertainment. Some have said that the line gets very long in the afternoon, thanks for that tidbit Westchester Moms! During apple season, you can pick your own apples from the middle of August to November. Certain apples will be available for picking, depending on when you come for a visit. The pumpkin picking starts late September until the end of October, This mom’s advice is to go early and beat the crowd; my mom always said the early bird gets the worm!  Check out upcoming events on the event section of their website.

FISHKILL FARMS, 9 Fishkill Farm Road, Hopewell JCT, NY 12533
Phone: 845 897-4377
Website: http://www.fishkillfarms.com/
Hours: 9AM-6PM, Pick-Your-Own: 9AM-5PM daily (in season)
Admission Fee: $5 (age 12 and under are free)
Fishkill Farms has been around for about 100 years. Although lacking some bells and whistles like a playground or petting zoo, Fishkill has some low trees for the little ones to pick their own apples. Fishkill Farms can get crowded on the weekends so be sure to cancel all other plans or go early! Fishkill also has festivals going on every weekend from mid-September to mid-October as well as yoga, details are on the event section of their website! A little Westchester Moms secret… the donuts are amazing!
